Chatsworth Derbeyshire

I knew I ought to visit Chatsworth hall since it is one of the stateliness of all the stately homes of England. I sure am glad I did. It was not only beautiful, but the guides were so helpful and informative and told good stories. The Duke and Duchess of Devonshire live at Chatsworth hall, but open it to the public. The former Duchess of Devonshire is Deborah, who is one of the famous Mitford sisters. I have always been fascinated by the Mitford family. They were mostly crazy, but also very interesting. The guides told me that the Duchess of Devonshire and her husband are very nice approachable people. The day I visited was my first rainy day in my three years of trips to England. But I was inside most of the time so it was okay.
This building is the stables..

A guide told me Diana and Deborah Mitford hired a jazz band to play in this bedroom.

Dining room set just like it was when Queen Victoria came to dinner.
